Practice ended abruptly on Wednesday at Gardena Serra when 6-foot-10 junior center Emmanuel Ndumanya shattered the glass backboard with a dunk.
Coach Dwan Hurt was under the basket during the three-man weave drill.
‘He came in for a dunk, and I said, ‘No he didn’t,’’ Hurt said. ‘Then the glass started falling.’
Athletic Director Ted Dunlap said Thursday the cost is $1,500 for a new backboard. But hey, look at the publicity the glass coming down has created.
