Redlands East Valley stopped Mission Viejo on fourth and goal from the Wildcats’ 1-yard line to bring the Diablos’ best drive of the night so far to a dramatic end.
Mission Viejo had failed to score from the Redlands East Valley 1-yard line on two plays after picking up a first down on the Wildcats’ 5-yard line.
The Diablos’ other best scoring chance came in the second quarter when quarterback Alex Bridgford threw and end zone interception.
Redlands East Valley’s defense has been superb -- that’s probably explains why they’ve only given up 12 points all season.
