The City Section reduction of buses has claimed its first casualty. Gardena football Coach Ed Lalau quit before his team’s game against Oceanside El Camino last week after a dispute with administrators over taking cheerleaders on the same bus with players, according to the Daily Breeze.
Schools have been told to reduce buses because of budget cutbacks.
‘They told me I didn’t have an option, and I told them that I did,’ Lalau told the Daily Breeze. ‘They made the decision very easy for me.’
