Anaheim Servite has come out strong in its game against Long Beach Poly. The Friars put together an impressive opening drive, but it was stopped inches short of a first down at the Poly 13.

Then Kirifi Taula sacked Poly quarterback Dylan Lagarde on the six-yard line. That set up a blocked punt by Rudy Guerrero, with the ball going out of bounds in the back of the end zone for a safety, giving the Friars a 2-0 lead with under six minutes left in the quarter.

Servite has the ball back on Poly’s 40. Quarterback Cody Fajardo has looked good for Servite, completing his first four passes for 37 yards.
