Russell Otis, the Compton Dominguez coach who was placed on administrative leave in September, is facing a felony charge of lewd conduct with a minor, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
Otis was arrested and booked at the Carson’s Sheriff’s station on March 7 and released on $75,000 bond.
Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, said today that Otis is charged with a felony and misdemeanor involving alleged use of text messages of a sexual nature to a 16-year-old male on Aug. 30, 2008.
Otis was placed on administrative leave after the Sheriff’s Department began an investigation into the alleged crimes. Otis was acquitted in 2001 of sodomy and oral copulation with a minor.
