Mater Dei senior forward Andy Brown, who tore a knee ligament late last month, underwent successful surgery today and is expected to be ready to play at Stanford next season, Monarchs Coach Gary McKnight said.
Recoveries from torn knee ligaments can be tricky, though. USC forward Kasey Cunningham was initially expected to be able to play as a freshman in 2006-07 after tearing a knee ligament during his senior year in high school.
Cunningham’s recovery has gone more slowly than expected, to put it mildly. He redshirted his freshman season when the knee didn’t fully heal and then re-injured it in each of the following two seasons.
