Boys’ basketball: Westchester is top seed in City Section

By virtue of leading Fairfax in three of the four criteria used by the City Section selection committee--overall ratings index, ratings percentage index, strength of schedule and the coaches’ poll--Westchester landed the top seed this morning for the City Section Division I playoffs. Westchestern and Fairfax split their two meetings during the regular season.

The seeding breakdown:

1. Westchester

4. Cleveland

5. Sylmar

6. Crenshaw

7. Washington

8. Fremont

9. Palisades

10. Dorsey

11. Jordan

12. Birmingham

13. Van Nuys

14. Gardena
