Sen.-elect Scott Brown – the truck-driving, populist, Tea-Party-backed Republican --made his first visit to Capitol Hill since his upset victory in Massachusetts, and he already picked up his first insiders nickname: 41.
That is the number of senators it takes to sustain a filibuster, and that is why Brown during his campaign to become the Senate’s 41st Republican sometimes gave his autograph as ``Scott 41.’’
Sen. Mitch McConnell, a canny insider’s insider, was delighted: ``This is a man who understands how the Senate operates. So henceforth, I will always think of him as 41.’’
