Reputed gang member shot by Long Beach officer, police say

A man critically wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Long Beach was identified by police Tuesday night as a 22-year-old gang member.

Reputed gang member Sokha Hor was wounded after he allegedly brandished a handgun Monday evening near East 4th Street as officers searched for a man suspected of burglary and a weapons violation, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Detectives recovered a handgun and two assault rifles, police said.

Police said Hor is facing weapons and burglary charges. He underwent surgery at a local hospital and was listed in critical condition.
