Pedestrian killed by suspected drunk driver

An 82-year-old motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after his vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in Willowbrook on Friday night, authorities said.

Willie Crenshaw of Los Angeles was driving west on West El Segundo Boulevard, near Main Street, when his 1997 Ford sport utility vehicle hit a 65-year-old woman trying to walk across the street around 8:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman, whose identity was not released on Saturday pending notification of relatives, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crenshaw was being held Saturday on a $200,100 bail at a Los Angeles County jail.
