Investigators are trying to determine what led to a one-car crash that killed a motorist in Lincoln Heights.
The 34-year-old South Gate man died after his Acura sedan slammed into center divider on the southbound 5 Freeway near Elysian Park at about 9 p.m. Friday night.
California Highway Patrol officers pulled the man from his car and began CPR, but he was pronounced dead at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
“At this time alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision,” according to a statement from the CHP, which is investigating.
