It was all about fashion with a capital ‘F’ at the Golden Globes last night, so it should come as no surprise that Hollywood embraced the fantasy footwear styles that have been popular on the runways for the past few seasons.
No, Alexander McQueen’s armadillo shoes did not make a showing. But super-high platforms did help actresses get a lift off the soggy red carpet. Above, Kate Hudson balances on Casadei’s over-the-top nude-colored triple platform shoes.
Meanwhile, Diane Kruger, Anna Kendrick and Chloe Sevigny chose Sergio Rossi’s ‘Venere’ platform slingback pumps (at left).
The Sergio Rossis were custom-made for the red carpet, but a similar style is in the spring collection arriving in stores in February.
Guess the extreme shoe trend is still underfoot -- in Hollywood anyway.
